# Expert Suggestions:

01 -
  • It looks stunning in a pitcher—all those jewel-toned fruit slices floating around like edible confetti.
  • You can make it ahead and let it chill while you handle a hundred other things, then just add sparkle before guests arrive.
  • Everyone drinks it, whether they're avoiding alcohol, watching their sugar, or just thirsty on a warm afternoon.
02 -
  • Add the sparkling water at the very end—if you let it sit for hours, it goes flat and loses that refreshing snap that makes this special.
  • Use a sharp knife for your citrus; a dull blade tears the fruit and makes your slices look tired rather than fresh and vibrant.
03 -
  • If you don't have a citrus juicer, a sturdy fork and a bit of elbow grease will get you fresh juice just fine.
  • Keep everything cold—chilled juice, chilled sparkling water, chilled glasses if you have time—and you'll never have a watered-down disappointing sip.
